SPRINGFIELD – Jan Schramm, Senior Vice President, Trust Management Services at Hickory Point Bank & Trust, was honored with the 2022 President’s Award by the Illinois Bankers Association (IBA). The award is presented annually to an individual who has been a champion for women in the banking industry.
“The Illinois Bankers Association is proud to name Jan Schramm as our President’s Award winner for 2022,” said Randy Hultgren, President and CEO of the Illinois Bankers Association. “Across the state, women are paving the way for other female leaders in this heavily male-dominated sector. By spotlighting the mission-driven leadership and accomplishments of women in banking, we hope to encourage the next generation of leaders.”
A banking professional of more than 28 years, Schramm has served as a champion of women and their professional growth. She has been instrumental in helping to grow the IBA’s Women in Banking Conference into one of the country's most significant and longest-running events of its kind, serving on the conference committee for many years and twice as the chair. Additionally, she received the 2018 IBA Volunteer of the Year award for recognition of her work for the IBA and bankers throughout the state.
"Being a mentor to women is high on my priority list because I want them to excel further than I have in my banking career,” said Schramm. “I believe if you lend a hand, you can help lift the next person up."
Schramm is actively involved in the Springfield community, currently serving as the chair of the board for Girl Scouts of Central Illinois and is a board member for the Central Illinois Foodbank. She also volunteers with Illinois Women in Leadership, the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce, the King's Daughters Organization and many other local groups.
