The Illinois Bankers Association (IBA) has named Ron Hobson as the organization’s 2023 Volunteer of the Year. The award is presented annually to an individual who has gone above and beyond contributing to the banking industry. Hobson serves as Vice President/Relationship Manager of Midwest Independent BankersBank (MIB) and is an active member of the IBA.
Hobson is being recognized for his committed leadership and valuable contributions to the IBA’s Marketing and Communications Committee and the Associate Member Committee. With more than 20 years of experience in the industry, his unique perspective as a correspondent banker has provided invaluable insights, shaped banking initiatives, and supported the IBA in serving their membership.
“The Illinois Bankers Association is proud to honor Ron Hobson as our 2023 Volunteer of the Year,” said Randy Hultgren, President and CEO of the Illinois Bankers Association. “Ron continuously demonstrates his commitment to our mission of creating a positive business climate that benefits the entire banking industry and the communities they serve. For years, he has consistently stepped up to ensure the success of IBA events, including conferences that foster a more diverse and dynamic banking industry in Illinois.”
Hobson joined MIB in March 2015 as Vice President/Relationship Manager. His responsibilities include developing new accounts and providing financial services to existing MIB customers in Illinois. Prior to joining MIB, Hobson served as a correspondent banking officer at Midwest Banking Services/Illini Bank. He received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Illinois Springfield.
The award was presented at the association’s annual The ONE Conference in East Peoria. More than 220 volunteer bankers and associates serve on one or more IBA boards or committees. Nominations are determined by IBA staff to honor volunteers’ commitment to the industry and reward those who go above and beyond.
