CPA Continuing Professional Education (CPE)
The IBA is recognized as a public accountant continuing professional education sponsor by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation through December 31, 2022.
Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI)
The IBA is recognized as an HRCI Approved Provider through December 31, 2022.
Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)
The IBA is recognized as a SHRM Recertification Provider through February 28, 2024.
MCLE Board
The IBA is recognized as an Accredited CLE Provider by the Minimum Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) Board of the Supreme Court of Illinois through June 30, 2022. Attorneys wanting to attend CLE courses but find the cost to be a financial hardship should see the Association’s Financial Hardship Policy.
Financial Hardship Policy
Individuals who are unable to afford the registration fee for a CLE course or activity due to a financial hardship may request a full or partial waiver of the registration fee. For courses costing over $500, attorneys qualifying for financial hardship will receive at least a 50% reduction in the course fee(s).
A letter requesting a waiver of either the full registration fee or a portion of the registration fee must be filed at least 10 days before the course or activity begins and no later than the date that the attorney pre-registers. That letter needs to state the reason for the attorney's interest in the course or activity, as well as proof of income or an explanation of the financial hardship, and it must be signed by the requesting lawyer. That letter must be accompanied by a completed course registration form.
Full and/or partial waivers will be awarded on a space-available basis, with preference given to applicants in order of date submitted. No requests for registration fee reductions will be accepted at the door.
The Illinois Bankers Association may waive or reduce the registration fee for the CLE program at its discretion. The Association must provide in its annual year-end report: (1) the total number of requests for tuition reduction that the Association received; (2) the amount of tuition reduction requested by each attorney, both as a dollar amount and as a percentage of the registration fee (for example, 50% reduction requested); (3) whether each such request was granted or denied; and (4) for each request that was granted, the amount of the tuition reduction, both as a dollar amount and as a percentage of the registration fee.
